About

Ernie Sarmiento is the chief photographer of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He started as an apprentice to his father, a travel photographer, when he was just in his elementary grades. He has covered several coup d etats that toppled two presidents in his country, the exodus of hundreds of his compatriots from Kuwait and Iraq during the 1st Gulf War and two Olympic Games.
