INAIL: Italian Workers’ Compensation Authority and Prospekt Photographers are pleased to announce the first edition of the INAIL PHOTOJOURNALISTIC AWARD. The issue of the award is “WORK and SAFETY”. The contest is open to both professional photographers and young talents with photo reportages and photographic projects made in the last three years in Italy. There is no entry fee.

The aim of INAIL Photojournalistic Award is to contribute to public observation and reflection on the theme of work conditions in contemporary Italy.

The goal is to stimulate public awareness and to promote the culture of work safety both in its physical and its psychological aspects as INAIL defends the workers’ identity and their socio-professional and personal fulfilment.

The jury is headed by Pietro Cheli, vice director, GIOIA magazine and it is composed by:

Alfredo Albertone, photoeditor, Velvet magazine,

Giovanna Calvenzi, photoeditor, Sportweek magazine ,

Annalisa Fumagalli Ceri, photoeditor, Prospekt Photographers,

Grazia Neri, founder of Grazia Neri agency,

Maria Silvia Podestà, responsible of prevention processes in INAIL Milan Porta Nuova branch,

Michele Riva, editorial coordinator, L’Impresa magazine

Paolo Woods, photographer.

The Award is organised in two sections:

Best Reportage and Young Talent

For the Best Reportage section 4 reportages will be selected as specified below:

The first winner will be awarded 3000 euro
The second winner will be awarded 2000 euro
Two photographers will be awarded with the publication during year 2010/2011 of the selected reportages with a Special Mention on GIOIA magazine and on L’IMPRESA magazine, the Award media partners.

For the Young Talent section the winner will be awarded 2000 euro to develop a photographic project submitted to the jury.
