How did the opening go, Veba? I’ll bet they came in droves.

Remind us how long it’s on. If I’m in Chiland I’ll try to see the real thing, not just the Web presence. Something about those big prints on the wall…...

hi velibor, i’m going to catch up with you soon…can’t wait to see the book…i’ve been in china as you know…on this terrible earthquake. i know it’s not the same thing at all, but the destroyed towns of Beichuan and Yingxiu, nestled in the mountain river valleys…with all the buildings shattered by the unstoppable force of nature…it reminded me of Bosnia, of Sarajevo and of Mostar…in Beichuan there was a wrecked highway bridge going through a tunnel, and on the other side the whole roadway fell into the river a hundred meters below…that really looked like a Balkan war. and so i thought, why do we ever need to do this to ourselves, when forces beyond our control will do it every now and then, kill thousands randomly in half a minute. where are you spending the summer? should i drive north to canada to escape the heat?

Thanks very much all… Neal, the opening was great, full house… Alan, it is really terrible, the earthquake, the words escape me. Canada is waiting for you but I wont be here this summer. I’ll spend the summer (2,5 months of it) in Sarajevo, maybe you should stop by on your way from China? Andrew, seems like you read the book already, glad you enjoyed it… thanks.

For all of you, the website is finally live, http://www.aleksandarhemon.com , take a look, it is nicely done with words from the book and images, of course… Drop me a comment, email, anything…

All the Best,
Veba

VEBA THE SITE IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really love the photos, the concept, the intelligence behind it!

Fabulous!

Are you approaching museums and such like for an interactive exhibit WOW Its got so much going for it!

Brilliant I love this idea!

A wonderful way of storytelling and interlacing photography with literature. Congratulations. It reminds me, because of the interactive structure, of Hopscotch, by Julio Cortazar.

Congratulations! It’s deeply inspiring
