Favourite headphones for sound work?
|
Hello,
Do people have favourite headphones they use when recording sound? I know there have been a lot of threads on recorders and microphones but not much on headphones.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I actually use 3 different phones. I use the cheap-o Koss “Plug” for on the go recording. It’s an in ear monitor and its response is not very flat but it’s discrete and with a 25db foam surround gives excellent isolation. Also since it costs $15 they are disposable. For location interviews I use the Sennheiser PX100. They sound almost as good as my Sony 7506 phones but fold up into a little box so that I’m not dragging around a full set of phones. For final mixing I use the Sony for close checking background noise and stereo field placement.
