    <description>Born in 1979 in Genoa, Italy, Massimiliano moved to Siena to attend the local University eventually graduating in Communication Science in 2004. Thanks to his studies he had the chance to understand the key role played by journalism in contemporary society as a tool essential for democracy and social developement. His degree final essay focused on the war representation through the winning photographs of the World Press Photo Award and has been published by the Italian Visual Journalists Association. In 2006 he devoted himself to photojournalism, attending the International Photojournalism course at the Danish School of Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark. The same year his reportage &#226;&#8364;&#339;Calais, the last dream&#226;&#8364;* has been awarded the Canon Italia Young Photographers Prize.

Since then Massimiliano devoted himself to professional photography. He&#226;&#8364;&#8482;s particularly concerned with humanitarian and social issues, his interesests brought him to Kosovo, Turkey, Romania, Belarus, Thailand, France, India. His works have been featured by &#226;&#8364;&#339;D la Repubblica delle Donne&#226;&#8364;*, &#226;&#8364;&#339;L&#226;&#8364;&#8482;Espresso&#226;&#8364;*, &#226;&#8364;&#339;Himal South Asian&#226;&#8364;*, &#226;&#8364;&#339;Courier International&#226;&#8364;* and Action Aid International NGO.</description>
