http://www.lightstalkers.org/markos_dolopikos He was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1967. In 1983 he decides to become an amateur photographer and he creates his first dark room. In 1985 he comes to Athens to study Graphic Arts at the Technical University of Athens. In 1986 together with his studies at the Technical University, he enrolls at Lycourgos Stavrakos Cinema School, in the domain of Photography Direction. During his studies he participates in contests and exhibitions and he received various discriminations. In 1988 he starts working with various magazines. In 1989 he creates studio D and he specializes in still life, special effects and advertising photography. Since 1993 he works with dozens of Greek magazines and photographs many of thief front pages. From 1994 he turns to advertising photography exclusively. Some of the companies he has worked with are: Unilever, Knorr, Hellmann’s, Alsa, Lipton, NOYNOY, Pummarò, CUTTY SHARK Crossing, Good Year, FULDA, Kelly, Morris, Henkel, Tact. All this time black and white photography remains his greatest love and tries to capture moments of daily life and portraits on film, making an effort to retain something from the past which is disappearing both in Greece and abroad.
