He began his Graphic Design studies in Mexico City and in a few months into school Ian opens his own design studio as friends inundate him with freelance work. After a couple of years he decides to augment his work experience with additional academic training and enrolls with advanced placement into Art Center College of Design. There he receives a BFA and within week after graduation Ian moves to NYC. After a few months of freelancing, he accepted a position as Senior Art Director at Sony Music, (now Sony BMG) where he worked for over nine years. Ian utilized his position to gain invaluable knowledge working with the best photographers in the field to image some of most famous celebrities in the world. These experiences have made his transition into photography virtually seamless. Ian has won numerous awards as an art director and designer including a Grammy Award and two Grammy nominations.
