He started his photography career as a staff photographer for Dinamalar, a leading Indian daily newspaper and he later worked as the chief photographer for the Dinakaran Tamil Daily. Selvaprakash’s photography focuses on a wide range of social, political and economic issues such as the struggles of seasonal migrant workers, child labourers, AIDS sufferers and their families, Sri Lankan refugees, mine workers and Nepalese circus performers. In 2007, he participated in Angkor Photography Festival’s free workshops and won the Paris Match Award for best emerging Asian photographer with his work on AIDS sufferers and their families in Cambodia. His work is exhibited in PourIInstant 15th Young Visual Artist Exhibition Niort-France and 2008 World photojournalsim festival(China TOPS),Singapore International Photo Festival-2008(SIPF) He is now working as Photographer for DNA,Bangalore.
