Images by Antonio Sa (Lightstalkers)

With an early start in the world of photography, at the age of 11, Antonio was especially interested in capturing the wonders of nature with a tiny and basic camera. In 1995, 26 years old and imbued with the very same spirit, he starts his path as a professional photographer and journalist, producing full stories (text and photos) for several European magazines, including the Portuguese edition of National Geographic. Exploring his own ideas or working in assignments for specific clients, life as a freelance would take him to places such as Borneo, Turkey, Brazil, China, Iceland, Mongolia, Namibia or Cape Verde, to name just a few.
Although he still works on nature related issues, today his stories cover a much wider range of subjects that he approaches with the same passion. Meeting photographers David Alan Harvey in Santa Fe, and José Manuel Navia in Madrid also had an impact on the way he looks to - and relates with - the modern editorial world. More than ever he prefers working on stories that allows a close and personal point a view.
