    <description>David Vaaknin (b. 1979) took on photography in 2002, while traveling across the U.S. and Latin America. He began his career as a freelance photojournalist for Israeli media in 2006, after returning to Israel. In addition to covering breaking news events, daily life and the (more than) occasional photo op, David also specializes in documentary, travel, portraiture, and sports photography.
His work appeared in a variety of publications including: The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, Esquire, MSNBC, Die Zeit, Liberation and others.  
David currently lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Natalie, where he is working as a freelance photographer for the daily Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom since 2007. His current client list also includes: The Associated Press, Getty Images and Haaretz daily newspaper.
