Arnold studied photography at The Bornemouth and Poole College of Art and Design, in England, from 1991-92 and The Parsons School of Design in Paris, France, from 1992-93. After completing his studies Arnold started his freelance career. Today his work includes commercial and industrial photography for many of Iceland's largest companies and advertising agencies. Along with his private practice Arnold has worked as a part time press photographer at Iceland's largest newspaper, Morgunblaðið, since 1997. This has offered him numerous opportunities to go on interesting and challenging assignments for the paper. For the past couple of years Arnold has also had a number of assignments assisting , planning, and location scouting for foreign film crews and photographers. In addition, Arnold has had the opportunity to work as a photographer for many distinguished companies such as Time Magazine, The BBC, Outdoor Magazine (on the story of Keiko) and Reuters. Although Arnold is comfortable using conventional camera equipment, he now shoots almost everything on digital cameras and Photoshop is an essential tool for him. Arnold has had private exhibitions as well as participating in group exhibitions. His photographs have frequently been nominated and have received prizes in competitions both in Iceland and abroad. en-us
