http://www.lightstalkers.org/klesken On a hot summer morning in 1981 I was born in a small village of Pieta on an island roughly the size of 12x20 miles in the Mediterranean – Malta. My parents were from Czechoslovakia and they were there because they didn’t agree with the communist regime. My father worked as a physician and when his contract ended we moved further south to Libya. The beautiful, long, empty sandy beaches will forever stay in my memory. However, so will the day when we had to leave; the memory is vague, but I remember that my family had to be smuggled trough the border to Tunisia... To cut the long story short, a large part of my childhood happened in Zimbabwe and my heart fell victim to the love of Africa, however, my soul and identity long for my Slovak roots. I became a Canadian citizen in the new millennium and here discovered my love for photography.
