<description>Diane Epstein, an American fine art photographer has made Italy her home. She has a keen eye towards bringing to life Ancient and Renaissance Rome, as well as other old-world cities. Epstein captures an original view of the monuments, statues, fountains and the hidden with a textural, timeless quality. With her own innovative form of photography, she revives the large-scale narrative painting and panoramic vistas of another time, while still retaining the architectural details of today. Epstein touches on the mystery of place and time with her fresco inspired photographs and sepia-toned images of European street scenes.

Epstein's signature style of photography is created using a distinctive technique of layering multiple images, including ancient sites and the richly encrusted walls of Rome to design a painterly, textured picture, developing an illusion of shape and depth on a two dimensional surface. She manages to portray visual ambiguities to allure the eye, with painted pillars, columns and cupolas that cast depth into the viewer's space.

Epstein has exhibited her work widely in Italy, including at the American Academy in Rome, Belgian Ambassador's Residence, John Cabot University, the museum at Il Chiostro Boccarini in Amelia, Umbria; and at Al Vicario next to the Italian Parliament. She has won awards for her photography and has many collectors and corporate clients, as well as organizations that hire her for photo shoots, such as the Venice Biennale.

Diane Epstein's next exhibition will be at the American Embassy in Rome from October 7- 28th. She is presently installing 22 of her pieces with Rome Luxury Suites, including life-size fresco photographs for each suite at Hotel Babuino, 181.

Living in Rome since 1995, Diane also works as a photography and creative coach, guiding people through Ancient and Renaissance Rome, exploring the outdoor markets, piazzas, and hidden treasures, as well as the Roman countryside. She offers private sessions for both beginners to professionals, assisting them so that they can find their own unique artistic voice.
