http://www.lightstalkers.org/jennifer_mitton I've written fiction about northeastern Nigeria (Fadimatu, a novel)and contemporary life set in North America and Europe. (Sleeping With the Insane, Short Stories, and Bonjour Minuit, a YA novel in French.) I lived and worked in Northeastern Nigeria (Near Numan, in Adamawa State) for two years and later went back with a Canada Council grant to "vet" my novel set there before it was published. The news and images from Nigeria continue to fascinate and move me. I've also done stand-up comedy to work on removing the stigma about mental illness.
