    <description>Donang Wahyu was born in 1978 and is now a freelance documentary photojournalist based in Jakarta, Indonesia.


First touched with photography at Senior High School, and seriously involved in photography when study at Institut Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (Social and Politic Science Institute) in Jakarta, and take journalistic photography class at Antara Gallery of Photojournalism. 


Donang was worked for some major media in Indonesia such as; ANTARA FOTO &#226;&#8364;&#8220; the Indonesia National News Photo Agency, Media Indonesia Daily, Tempo News Room and Djakarta! Magazine as a photo editor before he finally turn into a full freelance documentary photojournalist to do documentary photographic projects on social issues.


Some of his works had published in several social development organization annual report, company images and media such as; Geolino Magazine, Daily Telegraph, Christian Times, National Geographic Magazine Indonesia, Pantau Magazine, Koran Tempo Daily, Tempo Magazine, Kompas Daily, Media Indonesia Daily, Gong Magazine, Matra Magazine, Djakarta! Magazine, Enter 6 World Press Photo Online Magazine,UNAIDS (Joint United Nation Programme on HIV/AIDS), ADB (Asian Development Bank) Indonesia Resident Mission, AusAid Indonesia, Australia Indonesia Partnership, Baznas (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional), Oxford Business Group, UNESCAP (United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific), PQM Consultant, Susi Air&#226;&#8364;&#166;


Donang was selected by UNAIDS (Joint United Nation Programme on HIV/AIDS) project to make photo stories of people living with HIV &amp; AIDS around Indonesia (from Medan to Papua) on how Indonesian government, local and international NGO&#226;&#8364;&#8482;s fight against HIV &amp; AIDS in Indonesia.


Donang has been selected by World Press Photo Foundation, Asia-Europe Foundation and Philippine Centre for Photojournalism as a representative from Indonesia in The Asia-Europe Forum for Young Photographers 2006, to participated in photojournalism and photo documentary workshop session in Manila, Philippine, where he exchanged experiences, discussions together with 20 other young photojournalists from 21 countries around Europe and Asia, and practiced assignments on the topic of Youth, do the final public presentation and exhibit his photo assignment to public


Donang has released a photography book titled &#226;&#8364;&#339;Ocean of Tears&quot;, collaborated with other Antara photojournalists. &quot;Ocean of Tears&quot; is a documentary photography book on Tsunami and Earthquake that hit Nangroe Aceh Darussalam on 26 December 2004, killed more than 1000 people of Aceh, destroy all of infrastructures and make Aceh collapsed in every aspect.
