Matt is a documentary photographer and a humanitarian at heart. He chooses to focus on stories that are dynamic in their emotional content yet resolute with their poignancy. He has worked with Sudanese refugees in Uganda, Maine, and Southern Sudan and has photographed the alternative coffee industry in Guatemala. His photography has taken him to the halls of the United Nations and into the old growth forests of Central Europe. He has photographed for news papers, magazines, and blogs in an attempt to shift mindsets and work towards a more just world.

Matt was trained in photography at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and holds a BA in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic.
