Ambulance destroyed during an Israeli military incursion into the al-Bureij refugee camp in the center of the Gaza strip, 06 July 2007. Israeli troops withdrew from the Gaza Strip overnight after an operation in which they killed 11 Palestinian fighters during heavy fighting, sources on both sides said. Of the 11 Palestinian fighters killed, six belonged to the armed wing of Hamas, the Islamist movement blacklisted as a terrorist organisation in the West and which seized control of the Gaza Strip last month.
