    <description>Mariana Eliano was born in Buenos Aires and currently works as a photographer in news and advertising in Argentina and Spain.

In 1993, she graduated in Graphic Design from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and she later took Art and Communication at postgraduate level at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Mariana has also studied with Eduardo Gil and Humberto Rivas in Buenos Aires, Duane Michals in Madrid and Fred Ritchin at International Center of Photography in New York.

Between 1994 and 2001, she worked for a number of Argentine magazines. These include La Maga and Veintitr&#233;s, where she was a staff photographer, and Ego and El Grafico, where she worked as a stringer. She also worked as a photographer and editor for the Argentine Ministry of Education and for Levi Strauss Argentina.

In 2001, Mariana moved to Madrid and began working for El Pa&#237;s Semanal, the Sunday magazine of El Pa&#237;s; YoDona, the weekly women&#8217;s magazine of El Mundo; and for the in-house magazine company Reporter. While in Spain, she also worked with Pepe Jeans, Fahoma, Murray Communications and the British photo agency Visual Media. She was also one of the finalists in the photographic competition Descubrimientos (PhotoEspa&#241;a 2003).

In 2005, she worked as full-time stringer for Associated Press and also as photo editor for Jordi Soc&#237;as&#8217;s book Maremagnum (Lunwerg).

In 2006, Mariana returned to Argentina. She now works on a freelance basis for clients such as Coca Cola, the British Council, the daily Argentine broadsheet La Naci&#243;n, the travel magazine Lugares. She continues to work for El Pa&#237;s and YoDona.
