http://www.lightstalkers.org/showkat-nanda Showkat Nanda is an award-winning freelance Kashmiri photojournalist .He likes documenting social life and issues.He started photography as an amateur at the age of 12.He has a Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism with a specialization in Photography and Filmmaking.He recently won the National Press Photo Award 2011 oraganized by the Mumbai-based Media Foundation of India (MFI). Apart from the top title, he also won the 1st and 3rd prize in General News category at the prestigious contest. He has been teaching phtography and photo-editing at Baramulla Degree college and Islamic University of Science and Technology as a visiting faculty. He has also worked as a photojournalist and Feature writer/Reporter for a Kashmir based Daily,Rising Kashmir.
