http://www.lightstalkers.org/unaiaranzadi Unai Aranzadi (Bilbao 1975) is an award winning documentary filmmaker, writer and photojournalist specialized in armed conflicts and human rights. His films have been broadcasted in BBC, Al Jazeera and Canal +, among others. His texts and pictures have been published by El País, Der Spiegel, Reuters and The Washington Post. Aranzadi gets the story out from hostile environments, like the FARC guerrilla in Colombia, the talebans in Afghanistan or meeting a yihadist training camp in Somalia. Those are just some examples of his extensive war experience. He reveals the uncovered scenarios of the “global war against terror” by travelling alone to the other side of the world affairs, producing independent documentaries with an alternative journalistic angle. His work has been supported by CNN International, The Rory Peck Foundation, Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders. Independently or on assignment Aranzadi is ready to jump any where any time. Since 2001 he is the director of INDEPENDENT DOCS News and Media. He is currently based in Stockholm and Bilbao.
