    <description>www.w4nv.com Founder/director Women4NonViolence
Betsy Kawamura is a social advocate who believes that the voices of past survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) can help heal society. As a survivor she has worked internationally to empower women, including those of Asia-Pacific origin via various instruments such as UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (minor in fine arts) from the University of Hawaii, a Master of Business Administration degree from San Francisco State University and has solid experience as a consultant for various industries.

Her presentations and workshops in Europe, South East Asia and in the USA have focused on empowering survivors of GBV for high level political engagement. Her active network of state representatives, legal specialists, advocates and media agencies internationally aids in survivors&#8217; empowerment in both conflict and peace zones, all the way to the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
