I am a British freelance photographer specialising in travel and documentary photography. <br/> I finished a 1 year paid internship at Magnum Photos in their London office in 2005. Prior to this I graduated from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England in Zoology. My current photographic projects stem from my interests in social and environmental issues in Asia, with specific emphasis on China. I have however lived and worked on 4 continents, spending extended periods of time in countries as diverse as Japan, Brazil, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates. <br/> I received a travel grant from Magnum to begin my work in China in 2005 and subsequently received sponsorship from FujiFilmUK in 2006, from the David Alan Harvey Fund for Emerging Photographers in 2008 and the Pulitzer Center On Crisis Reporting in 2009. <br/> My work has appeared in print with publications including The Guardian, The Age, The Globe & Mail, Die Zeit, The British Journal of Photography, The Sunday Herald Magazine and The Ecologist.
