http://www.lightstalkers.org/matthew-aslett Matthew is a documentary photographer. A graduate of Newport University in Wales, his first vocation was as an Internet entrepreneur in the late 1990s. After a few years of developing the internet he moved to London to work with people directly, rather than from behind a screen. He found his skills in high demand and spent the next several years working with various NGO’s, community groups and grassroutes organisations. He helped setup and managed a community development project in Camberwell, south London, before returning to University to complete the life-long ambition of studying photography. Matthew now works freelance and on commission for various clients which include the United Nations, the European Commission, the Norwegian Refugee Council and the NUJ. He publishes both internationally and domestically in a range of newspapers and magazines including the Guardian, Des Spiegel, the Telegraph, the Independent, the Mail, Express, the Times and Blid to name but a few. International projects include Womens rights in Palestine, the Indian occupation of Kashmir, and human rights in Western Sahara.
