He recently photographed the Congressional Medal of Honor recipients and Tuskegee Airmen for Barack Obama's presidential inauguration (as appointed committee host). He has covered topics ranging from arts and culture in Cuba to the war in Afghanistan, where he embedded with the 10th Mountain Division. Michael has also written and directed for motion picture, with feature film credits including Three Days of Rain (2002), Land of Plenty (2004) and The Open Road (2009).
