    <description>Dan Lamont is an independent photojournalist working in print and multimedia and based out of Seattle in the Pacific Northwestern region of the US. Dan specializes in coverage of stories where environmental issues and cultural change merge. He has covered old growth forest issues, ranching, mining, water rights and a wide array of natural resource and land use issues. His work takes him all around the Pacific Basin. 

Dan has exstensive experience covering a wide range of news and features for international media including Time, Newsweek, US News, Businessweek, Stern, Der Spiegel, GEO, The Times of London, The Independent, The New York Times and many others.

Formerly affiliated with Matrix in the US and Focus in Germany, among other small agencies, Dan now distributes through Corbis, and independently through both Digital Railroad and Photo Shelter. He works on assignment independently and with Getty Editorial  Assignments.

Dan is Past-President of the American Society of Media Photographers Foundation and currently sits on the board of the Blue Earth Alliance &lt;www.blueearth.org&gt;.
