My last big project was a long investigative article in Harper's Magazine where I went undercover with a group of drug-trafficking border police between Quetta and Kandahar. The US military ended up using it instead of their own intel reports (in a leftist magazine, funded by a Shell Oil ad supplement, no joke.)
