At the end of the Taliban regime, Jalali got accepted to be part of the first generation of students at the Aina Media and Cultural Center, Jawad started to freelance for different international organizations such as UNAMA (The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan). He has worked as a freelance photographer for EPA (European Pressphoto Agency), AP (Associated Press), AFP (Associated France Press)BBC, UNDP, UNICEF, UNEP, and UNIFEM and for other projects in Afghanistan. He had several photo exhibitions, such as the Peace Day Events, Woman’s Day, Afghan Daily Life exhibits; Drug problems exhibit. His photos have been published in different publications and news media agencies like the Washington Post, World Photo, CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, World Civic Forum, UNAMA, UNHCR, UNIFEM, Canadian Embassy, U.S Embassy, Ploughshares, War Change, Mine Action, New Internationalist Magazine, Global Perspectives, News Hopper, News Runner, and many more. His latest photographic and academic project includes a fellowship to be part of the Master Class in Photojournalism with Master Photographer Tim Page organized by UNAMA and UNDP.
