    <description> Serkan Taycan (1978) was born in Gaziantep, Turkey. He studied engineering at Y&#196;&#177;ld&#196;&#177;z Technical University in Istanbul. After graduating, in 2004 he went on to complete a master-class on documentary photography in Nordens Fotoskola, Sweden and he completed various workshops with renowned photographers including Anders Petersen, Alex Webb, Halil Koyuturk. 

 He worked as staff photographer for Radikal newspaper and Asistant Curator for Photography at the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art.
  His works were shown at Malm&#195;&#182; Museum, Malm&#195;&#182;, Sweden in 2008,  he was selected to exhibit as a &#226;&#8364;&#732;Young Photographer from Turkey&#226;&#8364;&#8482; at the Russian National Centre of Photography, St.Petersburg, Russia in 2006. His works was also exhibited in the 9th International Istanbul Biennialle Hospitality Zone In 2005. 
  Serkan Taycan&#226;&#8364;&#8482;s works has been exhibited at several galleries including, Kar&#197;&#376;&#196;&#177; Art Center Istanbul Photography Center, Istanbul, KargART Gallery, Izmir K2 art Gallery. His works have appeared also in many international publications, including; The New Yorker, Wallpaper*, Der Spiegel. 
  During Summer 2009 Taycan&#226;&#8364;&#8482;s  Homeland series represented Turkey at Vendome Photography Festival for a Turkish Season in France. This series was published in the French Photography Magazine &#226;&#8364;&#339;Images&#226;&#8364;*. He was also one of the 18 artists selected to participate in the &#226;&#8364;&#339;Neighbourhood&#226;&#8364;*  project exhibiting in Istanbul and Berlin in conjunction with Istanbul 2010
  He is represented by Elipsis Gallery in Istanbul. He is a Sipa Press photographer.Serkan is also a member a group of independent photographers collective, RecCollective, and currently lives and works in Istanbul.
