After recognizing that photography would enable her to tell stories and explore humanity she quickly realized that she had found her path. Her work focuses on social and cultural issues. Her believes that there are many perspectives to each story, and that photography should illuminate a story, not define it. She is half way through in her graduation in photography from Pathshala, South Asian Media Academy, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Shahria had participated various international workshops conducted by prominent professionals Morten Krogvold in 2010 Chobi Mela VI. Collaboration program on visual story telling with Bjerkely Folkehoyskole, Norway in 2011,Sohrab Hura Workshop , Kathmandu 2012, Documentary Photography at ICP, New York by Andre Lambertson in 2012. She participated in different photography exhibition such as "Self-discovay" at Chobi Mela VI, 2011.
