Images by Christopher Guess (Lightstalkers) http://www.lightstalkers.org/christopherguess I am a freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer based in Madison, Wis. I graduated with a degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am currently based out of Madison and available for both editorial and corporate work in the Minnesota/Wisconsin/Iowa/Illinois area. I've previously held an internship with the Wisconsin State Journal, been published in most large papers within Wisconsin, and was photo editor, senior staff photographer and web editor at my college paper, The Daily Cardinal. I have also traveled widely in the US and Western Europe documenting differing cultural norms. For news, I've covered Mardi Gras, Bonnaroo, the Iowa caucuses, Wisconsin and Texas primaries as well as national and state election events. I've also had the pleasure to cover many protests, rallies, sit ins, fires, concerts and various natural disasters. All in addition to regular daily newspaper portrait and feature assignments. For sports, I've previously covered the Outback Bowl, Capital One Bowl, the 2006 NCAA Frozen Four Hockey Championships and most every UW Badgers' football, hockey and basketball game in the last three years in addition to volleyball, wrestling, soccer, track and swimming. I'm an avid snowboarder and have photographed most large board sports and many of the large ski/snowboard resorts as well. en-us A man dressed as the character "Towlie" from the South Park television show enjoys a concert while other people gape and congratulate him on the quality of the costume. In those four days over 100 different bands performed. While the music itself is interesting and eclectic, it pales in comparison to the seeming strangeness that the crowd offers. Most of the attendees are young and the festival, and the atmosphere that the crowd brings with it, is sometimes said to be this generation's Woodstock. Two women look at a variety of glass bongs on sale in the camp ground area early in the morning. Smoking accessories were available for purchase almost everywhere with no regulations.
Bonnaroo, an annual music festival held in Manchester, Tennessee was held June 14-17, 2007.
