I prefer shooting "from the hip" vs. studio work. After having worked at Aperture Foundation in NYC, one of my dreams was complete. Early influences for my (self) portraits were Cindy Sherman, Robert Frank, Ralph Eugene Meatyard and Mary Ellen Mark. More current influence are: Nick Waplington, Barbara Ess and Sylvia Plachy. I have taught photography, taken band shots, and worked for magazines, galleries and museums in several cities from NYC to Mpls to Seattle to Miami. Constantly moving, I have seen much of the states and just a bit (Paris) of Europe. Finally leaving my darkroom for the digital revolution, I still have an undying respect and nostalgia for film and medium format.
