After completing his dissertation on primates in central Africa, he began work in Scotland as a news photographer, becoming staff at the renowned Herald newspaper group. His natural history work of Zambia's epic fruit bat migration gained him a World Press Photo award using money from the UK & Ireland Picture Editor's Young Photographer of the year bursary. As a freelance, Kieran undertakes commissions across the world for clients.
