Still images for video

I am integrating still images into a video documentary using final cut. Actually an editor will be doing it, but I need to know what is a good resolution, size and format to convert images to before I hand over the material to our editor.

Thanks

Assuming you are a photoshop person, you can create a new slide template from the Photoshop drop-down menu based on dictated output.
