Camera Armour

hey guys,

just came across an interesting bit of kit and thought it might be useful for some others out there too. Is anyone already using it and if so is it any good?

I really can't see the point of that. Is it genuine armour as in it can stop bullets? Or is it something like a 'protective filter' that causes more problems than it solves?

looks like with that on the camera it could draw in more attention to the photog than one would like to have. it looks like hobbyists and gadget freaks may go for it though....

I still think a slight fling down a flight of stairs would put the camera out of commission. It does nothing to stabilize the internal parts, which is really the only way to ruggedize a piece of electronic equipment.

I actually saw one "in action" a couple of weeks ago. Some guy had one on at an event I was shooting. It sure did get MY attention... seems pretty useless indeed...

Why? When your camera smacks a door or edge, it doesn't make a thud? What if I have a verical grip on my D200? What then?
