PhotoShelter & FotoQuote is live

The PhotoShelter / FotoQuote rights managed pricing tool is now live. PhotoShelter users can now create pricing profiles for their images to sell online without photographer intervention via PhotoShelters e-commerce solutions (either a paypal or merchant account).
The tool allows photographers to set up different profiles for different sets of images
and to control the pricing and availability of the images depending on country/region.
For example: Maybe a photographer has an agency managing their images for U.S. clients only - they can set up pricing profiles that do not include the U.S. so as not to violate their contractual obligations with their agency. The tool is quite powerful and customizable - as usual - they folks at PhotShelter have done a great job of implementation and have really thought this through carefully. Well done and hats off to the PhotoShelter team!!!

Jock,

I think the fotoQuote integration makes things REAL EASY for image buyers. What I don't know is how many potential image buyers even know about Photoshelter and what marketing initiatives Photoshelter has to become better known, especially here in Europe.

Carsten:

PhotoShelter currently has over 3000 photographers using their system and the more photographers using it, the more picture buyers will use it. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising and promotion, and that is exactly what this is.

I for one am thrilled that in the past 18 months the PhotoShelter team has dedicated their resources to building a one of a kind digital online archive and e-commerce tool for independent photographers - investing in technology - the FotoQuote integration is a prime example of this.

Since PhotoShelter will take 10% of any online transaction conducted within their system - I'm fairly certain that they will market the product to picture buyers of all shapes, colors and sizes - because it is in their best interest to do so. They will make more money and so will we. :-)

I agree with Jock. It is just a matter of time. PS represents the new means of distribution which will eventually establish itself as the industry standard. and PS is doing a great job getting it all in place.
