It was working spendidly. After several hours of working out of my default 'intake' folder - listed in the 'favorites' bar of PM - i decided to move all of the images to a different folder. i performed a 'select all' within my default folder and dragged the selection onto the new destination folder. When the transfer - not copy, unfortunately - was finished, some 700 photos had gone missing. out of a total of 1300 jpegs. i have searched for them everywhere, using today's date, even specific file numbers, file type etc but the only sign of them are the cached thumbnails - small and large - in my library. no sign of the originals anywhere on my powerbook g4. i'm running OSX 10.3.9. If anyone has ANY suggestions on how to recover or find these images I would appreciate it. Turns out my problem was really my problem. I was using an unregistered copy of the program, and it has a built in flaw or bug to discourage such practices. On transfering images from one file to another it randomly deletes some - permanently. Can't say that I applaud the makers of PM for setting up such a destructive mechanism, but am I not in a position to argue. Alas.
