Are you offering?

What can you offer and for how much?

Elaborate, tell us more and someone might just get on the plane and help you tell the story of your country.

Re: Assistant or fixer or translator for pro phtographers in Lebanon

I can offer help, but what do you mean by how much, payment? or anything elss, and as i said becouse of the situation here in lebanon, and also I can take photos, I was in Iraq after the fall, and meet Kuni Takahashi if you know him, he is japanese too, and good friend of mine, gave me this site address by the way, there, he told me to took photos as I remember, so, i took my digital camera and took so many photos around baghdad, where even i go i took photos, some of them where good, but don't know where to sell them. so after a good time, i had deleted them all my war galary that i had lived, becouse of some personal problems. and kept only some butiful phtos that i took for mountines and beaches and sunsets, but know i want to back to photographs, but need someone can teach me the pro style, to tell me what is the real of photographing, when you put your self in some places you should never be there, like me for example, sometime I said on my self, why i did not bring my camera with me, you know why, becouse an a boom happend neer my place, or at my work in baghdad one, a car exploded 40 meters away from the office, but did not thought to bring the camera and took the real time action.
my father told me once the pro phtographer can fly all over the world to get a 1 clear shot...
I hope you can understand me...
waiting reply

Re: Assistant or fixer or translator for pro phtographers in Lebanon

Yes, I understand you.

I guess when I wrote "how much" I meant payment. It doesn't have to be money though. It can be a meal, a place to sleep, even an adventure. It looks like what you want is a lesson in photography, and you are in the right place.

I, like many others here happened to have been born on the rich side of the world. There is always a camera in the house, and we'd take pictures of birthday parties before we knew what a "lens" is. Never had I experienced what you have. Nor do I have the power to even imagine what it would be like to live where you live.

I wish I could send you a camera, all the memory cards you will ever need. I wish I can help.

BASHAR, Photography is merely a tool. Like words, anyone with a voice, can speak, anyone with a camera and a finger, can take a picture. Like words, just because you are shouting, it doesn't mean people can hear (understand) you. Just because you are taking pictures, it doesn't mean people can see, what you are seeing. Feel the way you feel.

With practice, and some thoughts, What are you taking pictures of? and who do you want to show these pictures to? and you might get closer to what you are looking for.

It's ironic (crazy), but what your dad said is true. We fly people to your country to take a shot, to tell your stories, for you. Instead of ever giving you a chance to do it yourselves.

Hope you can forgive us.
