It's been over 6 months since the grand opening of our Strap photo collective website and there has been many updates -- blogging and of course new photo stories (couple of new stories coming up in a month or two). We Strap members would both appreciate a lot if you would spare some time to look at the contents of the site and maybe a drop a comment or two... The address is

stories: http://www.strap-photos.com/stories.htm

(click "news" for main/blog)

Thank you!

(EDIT: edited link)

(EDIT: This problem is now solved, thanks to LS support! ) PS: How do I make this thread "public", so that everyone can see this?!? Every time I write a new thread I manage to write it so that it's visible only if logged in...even if I did check that box which says that "this is a public thread and I want the whole world to see it"...??

Petri, I think only a random sample of messages are shown to non-members or non-logged in members. I think "public" widely means all "LS logged in public" - but confirm by writing to LS support, as am remembering this and maybe incorrectly.

Hey Petri-where did you come up with the name strap? Does that mean something in Finnish?
I'd be worried about joining a collective that sounds like it's into bondage photos. Although
once I'd stumped up the $8,000, I could send you a very nice feature on Miss Whiplash here in the UK !!

I like the photos stories a lot-especially the 'My Father' set.

Best wishes,
JR.

John, thanks for your comment. Actually no, that Strap doesn't mean anything in finnish. The first working name was a really stupid inside joke and when it was time to make the site and actually decide the name it transformed into "Strap". And hey, you have a dirty mind if the word strap brings bondage photos in your mind, haha :) That is also one small beauty of the name because it reveals something of the viewers mind, haha... But actually doing a photo essay of bondage or s/m is something I would be interested in doing, that is something I don't know nothing about and I bet that it would be interesting project to shoot. Maybe some day...

Oh dear-me and my filthy mind. What have I started you on now....I think Miss Whiplash has grown too old to continue in business now and no, I wasn't a customer! If you want to see a superb set of pics on S & M amongst other subjects, look at http://www.leomaguire.com/stories.html Probably best not to look if you are easily shocked though!!
Cheers,

Thanks for the replies John, and great that you liked that My father piece I did. I've been getting a lot of good feedback from it. I don't think it's finished and the one currently out is the first incarnation of the story about him.

About the name.. It's a pointless and propably very stupid name, but hey it looks good and sounds good when you say it out loud. Eventhough Strap is a serious thing for us and we take our work with respect towards anything we shoot, humour is still a big part in our lives and has to be part of Strap too.

And yeah that 8000usd part has been erased, again part of my crappy humor. haha. I hope nobody was saving for that 8000 dollars.

John, I checked Leo's site and he has wonderful work there, have to check it with more time later!

New stories on the site:

We both Strap photographers decided to combine our powers and document the traditional finnish party called "vappu" (a.k.a. 1st of may / labor day). The goal was to produce and publish a small story with a fast schedule and with the power of teamwork by doing our own work separately and mixing the images into a one story. Jussi took pictures in northern Finland and I in southern Finland.

http://strap-photos.com/photosets/vappu/index.htm

And finally after many months of trying I will get my one year long project published in a magazine...apparently next week's sunday. If there is something you like in our site, please bookmark and visit again in couple of weeks to check out that story.
