Central European House of Photography  was founded in 2005, it is a branch of FOTOFO Foundation established in 1992.
From the very begininng the foundation organized the festival - theMonth of Photography Bratislava. The festival is oraganized each year in November and spans forty exhibitions, mostly the work of photographers from Central  and Eastern Europe ( Slovakia, Polend, Baltic republics, Austria, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, Hungary, etc ). Each year we present the retrospective of the worldknown  artists - Sebastia Salgado, William Klein, Josef Koudelka, Helmut Newton, atc. The sixteenth edition of the festival will be opened on November 1, 2006. The festival includes each year the international conference dealing with various subject - digital  photography, contemporary photography in Europe, photography of women, documentary photography, etc.
Since 1995 FOTOFO Foundation is the publisher of the only European magazine devoted to the  photography trends in Central and Eastern Europe. The magazine IMAGO is published twice a year in English language.  
The Central European House of Photography is composed of two flore exhibition space &#226;&#8364;&#8220; Gallery Profil and Fujifilm Gallery. The fourth floor is occupied by the Photography Library of Vladimir Vorobjov. In the basement we run workshops and lectures on national and international subjects. The Central European House of Photography is situated in the old center of Bratislava, the building is a cultural heritage of Slovakia.
The aim of the  Central European House of Photography is to collect informations on tradition and new trends in the photography of our
region. We work on internet archive of the most influential images of 20th century in the Central Europe.  There is a small collection of prints by Slovak photographers.
The Central European House of Photography participates on publishing billingual books on photography.</description>
