[Lightstalkers] medium format scanner http://www.lightstalkers.org/medium-format-scanner An entire Lightstalkers thread via RSS/XML. en-us medium format scanner I am looking for a good medium format scanner, I probably can't afford an Imacon but have been looking at the Nikon 9000 or Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO. has anyone had expeience with these or another suggestions? I'm shooting mainly colour neg. Really solidly built machines that will last for ages so 2nd hand would probably be fine. The digital ICE software is great where as the Imacon scans I have to spend ages spotting them. Hope that helps Mon, 26 Nov 2007 08:53:08 +0000 http://www.lightstalkers.org/medium-format-scanner#102544 Re: medium format scanner Go for the Digital Ice. It is worth it. I have a friend that loves his Nikon and I have heard som good things about the Minolta. The digital Ice is a beauty but you will have to be careful in using that on negs. It can stirr things up so I would check that out. I had a problem with negs and digital Ice on my Nikon coolscan. But if it works it saves so much work. I've read some good reviews. Looks like good quality for very good price if you need to scan medium format or panoramic 35mm (Xpan) films. Upgraded to this from Nikon 4000 ED (when I added Med Format to my shooting). Do all the dust spot knocking by "hand" with the healing tool in Photoshop. Only used ICE with my dad's old Kodachromes in batch processing.
