A flash photo I took over the weekend gave this guy one red eye and one yellow eye, even though the flash was built-in and he was looking straight at the camera. Could this be a medical condition?? Don't think they were different colours though ! My photo shows one red eye and one yellow/green, but they are coloured contact lenses designed to help correct the colour blindness suffered by this photographer. Back to your question-it's all to do with the angle of the light from the flash to the eye and back to the axis of the lens. If the camera had a built in flash then red/yellow/whatever eye is going to be much more likely than with off camera flash. Er, hope all the above helps !! I am going to contact him later this evening to see if he does have contact lenses or is aware of any problems.... I too remeber reading about a medical problem somewhere, and seem to remeber that in that case, it was a dislodged retina. Won't tell the client that though obviously !! Depends on the % of your colour blindness what shade you would see. I can assure you that the contact lenses covering his iris's were red and yellow. I'm 30% red/green and have been known to buy deep-burgundy coloured shoes thinking they were dark brown! Now I'm aware of the problem it's ok though and doesn't affect my work,(well not as far as I know !!). Back in the good old days of mono images the only problem was buying clothes for those smarter assignments-hehe. Best wishes, JR.
