Hi Stefan -- cinema village has a kind of complicated "end date" thing on their website that I didn't quite understand, and no answers on the OGM on phoneline. I'll shoot an email to Christian Parenti, he's tight with the film makers.

Leo, I'm down for it Friday. It's playing every two hours from 1:30 to 9:30.

DREAMLAND chronicles the daily grind of young recruits as they patrol an
environment of low-intensity conflict creeping steadily towards catastrophe.
The film documents the city’s waning stability before a final series of
military assaults began in the spring of 2004 that effectively destroyed it.

A real opportunity to see the war from a soldier’s perspective, OCCUPATION:
DREAMLAND provides an intimate examination of the escalating tension in the
unstable region. The narrative follows a downward spiral of civil
destabilization and personal frustration, borne by individuals trapped on
both sides of the conflict, and unflinchingly addresses the soldiers’
operational and moral ambivalence about the war effort itself.

Filmmakers Garrett Scott and Ian Olds were given access to all operations of
the Army’s 82nd Airborne. They lived with the unit 24/7, giving voice to
soldiers held under a strict code of authority as they cope with an
ambiguous, often lethal environment. The result is a revealing, sometimes
surprising look at Army life, operations and the complexity of American war
in the 21st century."

Hey Friends,



Well, I finally have the pleasure to announce that OCCUPATION: DREAMLAND

will open this Friday at CINEMA VILLAGE.  Check out the flyer below for more

information.  It's been a long haul, and now we are here.  The film print

looks fantastic.



As many of you may know, opening weekend box office is crucial 

to keeping the movie on the screen in NY, as well as getting it into 

other theaters in the US.  Everything depends upon people coming for 

the weekend shows, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.



Two years of work and these three days make or break the movies 

theatrical life.  Please come down and buy a ticket.  Take an hour and 

a half this weekend for some real movie action!  Everyone try and get 

four friends to go!  It will help us more than I can explain properly.



You won't be disappointed.  I'm including an e-flyer to send to 

your favorite folks in NY.  We've got great reviews in the NY papers 

this week (check the Voice, TIme Out and the NY Times on Friday).  

We're doing radio and TV, but that won't do it.  It's all grass roots 

now, and I thank you for all of your help.



We'll be there all weekend, with one of the soldiers from the movie.

After the film, the director was on hand to answer questions from the audience. He gave us a firsthand eyewitness account of what is really happening in Iraq.
Definately an eye opener.
