Mel has been a mentor to me and many others,a kind and very talented man and a wonderful teacher. His book "In The South Bronx of America" is one of the best pj books of the last 20 years and these images in this current showing are relevant and touching. If you're in the area, don't miss it.

Re: Mel Rosenthal ‘s exhibition,THE ARAB AMERICANS: AMERICANS BY CHOICE

Yea for Mel. I believe Mel is one of those unsung heroes in photography who goes about and does his important work year after year often without the recognition he deserves. I have been lucky and honored to be a part of his Women in Photography Workshops in NYC and have seen him in action as a mentor and teacher. The photo world is richer for him being out there committed to his work and teaching. Unfortunately I feel the photo world often recognizes only the “starsâ€* or “30’s under 30â€*, neglecting many of those truly dedicated to their vision. So maybe today we all should thank a photo teacher or mentor and maybe even get to know another photographer and their work. Congratulations Mel! Long over due for you. Sarah Hoskins
