I want to echo Bob's comments. These are obviously very strong images, the courage of the photographers and the level of the violence is staggering....one suggestion though, when looking at the images the background music, especially the words, marginalized the impact of the work for me. I was looking for an option to switch that off, aside from adjusting the levels on my computer of course....or maybe there was one, I just couldn't find it. Thanks for sharing this work with all of us, it made me want to dedicate myself to world peace....photograph a flower, something like that.

Thanks for the comments guys -- Andy, you can pause the audio. Just roll over the menu, and VCR-style audio controls will emerge. We could make this more visible, but we don't want to obscure the images any more than is absolutely necessary. Thanks again everyone,

still sad reality, very good photo journalistic work. I dont like the music, I get the feeling that the music is there for making the images easier to digest, easier to consum. to me the images should stand alone, speak alone through their message.

some very powerful work here, congrats to all the contributors. no.16 by jehad nga is the one i'll take away with me. i would like to have seen credits in the slideshow instead of having to go through the individual listings to find who shot what.

ditto what others have said about the music. yes it can be switched off, but it shouldn't be there at all (imho) - much too soppy and romantic to my ears. i'm not sure why people think pictures need music? my impression is that its usually added simply because it can be - which is the wrong reason. if i went to an art gallery with piped-in music i'd probably run out screaming.

well done for putting this together!

Gotta say, the music is so crappy I had to turn off the sound. Sappy, sad, is fine...but that's just a bad voice she's got. Or him, whatever.

Another note: a quick check on Google Analytics showed me 99% of my viewers had at least 1028x768 screens. I think the slideshow could be larger now days.
