[Lightstalkers] Foundry Workshop Film Users http://www.lightstalkers.org/foundry-workshop-film-users An entire Lightstalkers thread via RSS/XML. en-us Foundry Workshop Film Users Who's is shooting film at foundry, and who is brining what? scanners, reels, tanks, chemicals, scotch..... We should all pitch in on communal chemicals, which I can purchase for us, otherwise, the couple of shops here will run out and people will be screwed... And maybe some folks can bring bulk film that we can all pitch in on as well... We should have a small darkroom (just for processing and hanging yer negs) at my apartment to help speed things up... And, a little scanning station as well. There is also a darkroom at the site, that Eric says is $20 to use... but I havent talked to them yet, as it is the weekend... more on that later Also, if you want to shoot slide, there are only 2 options to get your film processed, one of which is http://www.lmi.com.mx/ and they are expensive, so then you are left with http://www.customcolor.com.mx/ and they are a little cheaper and very fast. 3 hours or less to process your slide, at about $8.50 (US) a roll, mounted, or $6.50 unmounted. Now, for me, I don't have that kinda money to burn, so if im gonna shoot color, I will shoot digital, but for some of you, this may be an option. And, if you get lazy, that same spot, custom color, will do your black and white rolls for about $4.50 in under 3 hours as well. The main thing, somebody bring me a bottle of scotch, I cant afford the good stuff here, and processing my film while drinking tequila just aint the same damnit!! I went to the Havana club distillery/museum a few years back and sampled the fine sugar cane nectar.... Wonderful place, but I still like the Nicaraguan flor de cana better, which comes nice and cheap here and is as good or better if ya ask me. But even that aint a fine bottle of scotch, thats for sure. Say whats up to L.A. for me Jay, I miss Cali land! I will buy as many bags of D-76 as I can... They are $35 each bag, plus tax, and each bag makes 10 gallons of developer. It will be pretty cheap overall, as long as we all kick in. I need to know who is in, asap, so we can figure out how many ways we can split this up, and how many bags we need and can afford. Please make sure to reply to my email (bfrank.wpa@gmail.com) or here on LS, if you are in on this... I leave for NYC in a week, so wee need it all figured out by then. Thanks P.S. Also, scanners, scanners, scanners.... I know it sucks to lug along, but several people have told me they have em and aren't bringing them... if you can manage, try to bring it, cuz the more we have at our little scan station, the much better off we are gonna be. P.S.S. Also remember, little items like negative sleeves and binders can be a major headache to find here, dont forget the little stuff.
