http://www.lightstalkers.org/from-the-new-york-photo-festival-now-under-way An entire Lightstalkers thread via RSS/XML. en-us I'm here in DUMBO (which for the uninitiated stands for Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and so are several thousand others from the photo industry. I've seen a number of people from various prior LS-related activities and expect to see more at the LS get-together at reBar this afternoon at 6 p.m. In an article this morning, the "NY Times said":http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/16/arts/design/16gall.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=new+york+photo&st=nyt&oref=slogin "Anyone with even a slight interest in contemporary photography should go to Dumbo for the...Festival this weekend." That's true, and this first-year event is off to a rip-roaring start. I've been running from event to event and have not had a chance to do much shooting (plus being ravaged by a terrible cold), but below are a few shots I quickly made of what's going on around DUMBO. First, the Registration Desk at powerHouse arena. Went to the VII seminar today, everyone seems to be settling down, having kids, trying to be good fathers and leaving conflicts all together. James Natchwey wasn't going to come, but he did, came straight from the airport. Seeing him in real life is an honour, he very much repeated what he had said in the past though.
