[Lightstalkers] Monitor choice? http://www.lightstalkers.org/monitor-choice- An entire Lightstalkers thread via RSS/XML. en-us Monitor choice? Does anyone have any experience with the latest Apple 20" Cinema Displays? I'm thinking about a new set up and leaning heavily towards a MacBook Pro and the 20" but I'm open to suggestions. For the last two and a half years I have been using mainly a (well calibrated) 20" iMac which I have been really happy with. I would like to stick with Mac stuff and the portability of the MB Pro alone plus the possibility of having an extended desktop for Photoshop work seems attractive... It calibrates nicely and is a pretty close match to my prints. That's what I'll be doing to go with my MacBook Pro. Sun, 18 May 2008 10:04:22 +0000 http://www.lightstalkers.org/monitor-choice-#121636 Re: Monitor choice? All the Apple Cinema displays are good for photo work, having high quality S-IPS screens. They are long-overdue for an update, but there's no clear sign that new ones are coming. If your need isn't urgent, I'd suggest holding off on buying until the Mac WWDC conference on June 9-13 in San Francisco, just on the offchance Apple releases something new. If not then get one now and am sure you'll be happy with it. On another note, The iMac 24" also has a good screen (H-IPS) so long as you don't mind glossy, which of course some people do. What photographers should avoid is the new 20" iMac because they use the lower-quality (at least in terms of color rendition) TN screens. Dont go for a apple display, I had three (20") of them, gave them back, they all had a rose touch when working on a white surface. eizo 2111, is great screen.
