Finally Canon regains some serious competition in the news departement. But nobody believed me. Damn!! But Canon basically moved their 40D 12meg camera into a Rebel camera and put an eight hundred dollar price tag on it last month. So it will be interesting to see what Canon next offering as far as the 5D full frame. Either way the competition should be a good thing! Also watch out for Sony who are reportedly making new sensors for Nikon. Apparently the sensors that Sony are making are designed and specked by Nikon. Sony are simply manufacturing them. Maybe Sony are learning from Nikon's R&D. There are all kinds of rumours about a 5D Mark II with 16 megapixels, full frame, self-clean, semi-weather proof and less noise at high ISO. all for $3,000 or so. Thats a lot of camera, but then the lenses become more of an issue. Either way, my eyes are certainly open to what Nikon is doing. My dream is to never have to buy another SLR. I want a improved version of the DP1 that shoots faster, have higher ISO range, and faster lens.
