[Lightstalkers] Had to bite my sigma DP1 http://www.lightstalkers.org/had-to-bite-my-sigma-dp1 An entire Lightstalkers thread via RSS/XML. en-us Had to bite my sigma DP1 a few days ago i lost my grip on my backpack and it fell off me. the small point and shoot got the worst of it. i realized last night while i was playing with it ( at dinner after half a bottle of good sangiovese ) that the pop up flash wasn't popping up any more. as i was getting ready for months of waiting to get it back from their repair service, i tried a last option and took a precise bite where the weak metal body was dented. it worked and now the flash is up and running again. not that i ever use it but after paying almost 1000 usd for it, it better treat me nicely. takes nice pictures BTW and the 3:2 format on such a small camera is awesome. Mine fell off the dinner table a few days ago - with the lens retratcted, fortunately. Still working perfectly fine. I thought about chewing on it, but you're not supposed to eat the heavy stuff in the evening and I assume it doesn't go well with white wine.. Glad to see someone else is buying those, I really like mine despite its shortcomings.. flash sync with f5.6 at 1/1000th is cool. It eats through the battery pretty fast though, even just sitting in the bag. Don't know if this is just mine? I guess it's something they'll have to work on on their next version. I like it (the DP1) more and more despite all the - well documented - things that could be better. Beautiful colours and the clunky SPP software has the best "auto" function of any raw software I know because it seems to be designed to produce quickly good files for PP. Shipping was superfast btw, so just buy one while they last.. Cheers Sat, 21 Jun 2008 10:54:32 +0000 http://www.lightstalkers.org/had-to-bite-my-sigma-dp1#123930
