Dig the "loop" thingy. Also the saving of instructions to achieve altered versions instead of making actual copies. Sounds like a real voodoo space saver. Smart. Could replace the need for photomechanic, photoshop, and extensis portfolio in one swoop. It be needing some serious speed though. We'll see. It requires (recommends) a pretty fast processor and takes up a good chunk of disk space. Wonder how it will fare on a powerbook? I suppose if it does actually take the place of Photoshop, Photo Mechanic etc, I could remove them and just use Aperture, which would take up the space they left on my Powerbook... Thu, 20 Oct 2005 10:45:51 +0000 http://www.lightstalkers.org/posts/apple-aperture-software#9130 I've been shooting RAW for a while, even more so now with the 5D, and am beginning to wonder if I'll be using Jpeg again...The RAW file is such a nice starting place for image processing and I've found in some aspects its easier and quicker to acquire a RAW file and then make a JPEG copy than actually process JPEGS alone. I recently shot the Labour Party Conference and the light was terrible. Shot everything on 800 ISO and RAW, and produced nice low noise JPEGS with decent skin tones. I would have had to faff about much longer shooting Jpeg alone...I think RAW is the way to go - but it really burns through CF cards.
